Seize the Moment – Day 218

Daily Victories!

2 Corinthians 10

Good morning! This is Pastor Jerry Ingalls from New Castle First Baptist Church and today is Wednesday, October 21.

Are you winning the daily victories in your Christian life?

Paul says in 2 Corinthians 10:4-6, “For the weapons of our warfare are not of the flesh but have divine power to destroy strongholds. We destroy arguments and every lofty opinion raised against the knowledge of God, and take every thought captive to obey Christ, being ready to punish every disobedience, when your obedience is complete.”

A stronghold is a military term that gives us the image of an enemy fortress that has been established on your rightful homeland that causes you to live a limited life; a life other than abundant life Jesus’ promised in John 10:10

In everyday ways, a stronghold is like a kink in a garden hose—a garden hose is intended to bring fresh drinkable water from the source to the destination, but the stronghold blocks the flow of God’s Spirit through you so that you do not manifest the fruit of the Spirit or utilize the gifts of the Spirit for the work God has called you to do.

In the context, Paul is specifically talking about strongholds of thought, ideas, and the accompanying behaviors that flow from an unbiblical belief system.

One of the ways I am winning daily victories is making these phone calls through the COVID-19 pandemic. These help me fight the good fight for Christ; my devotional time is a pathway of relationship with God and I hope it is the beginning point for you to make time for God in each of your days.

We each must destroy strongholds and take every thought captive so that we may walk in obedience to the commandments of Jesus Christ and bring God glory through our everyday decisions.

Seize the moment and structure your life for daily victories. Spend time in God’s Word today. Jesus is praying for you…

Have a wonderful day as you live in God’s amazing grace!
