Seize the Moment – Day 1446
Today’s worship song focus :
First Things First
Revelation 2:4-5a (NASB95)
and repent and do the deeds you did at first;”
The brotherly trio of Caleb, Jordan and Josh Ward make up the group “Consumed by Fire”. They grew up traveling with their father who was an evangelist, serving others through church planting and medical missions. After their father had a catastrophic stroke, the boys took a hiatus to care for him. Following his passing in the spring of 2022, they reemerged with a fresh passion and commitment to the calling of their ministry through song. Jordan said this song “spearheaded the creation of a new direction for us… We’re saying, ‘Lord, we want what You want.’”
First thing’s first I seek Your will Not my own
Surrender all my wants to you Keep the first thing first
We need to wake up and take the words of this song as a prayer for our own lives. By returning our hearts to our first love, Jesus, we are then moved to love others in the way that He loves us!

Today’s worship song focus :
Every Move I Make
Psalm 139:1-3 (NASB95)
“ O Lord, You have searched me and known me.
2 You know when I sit down and when I rise up;
You understand my thought from afar.
3 You scrutinize my path and my lying down,
And are intimately acquainted with all my ways.”
Written by David Ruis and recorded by David Crowder Band in 1999, this energetic song of worship reflects our faith and trust in God’s plan. We are reminded that He is our guide, our protector and our source of strength because of His constant presence in our lives.
Every move I make, I make in You, You make me move Jesus
Every breath I take I breathe in You.
Every step I take I take in You, You are my way Jesus
Every breath I take I breathe in You.

Seize the Moment – Day 1432
Today’s worship song focus :
Guide Me, O Thou Great Jehovah
Isaiah 58:11 (NASB95)
And satisfy your desire in scorched places,
And give strength to your bones;
And you will be like a watered garden,
And like a spring of water whose waters do not fail.”
Today’s hymn was written in 1745 by William Williams, originally in Welsh, and later translated into the song we know today. Williams was studying to be a doctor when he encountered the preaching of Howell Harris, which led to his conversion. It was then that he gave up his studies to seek his ordination in the Established Church. He used the beautiful imagery of the Old Testament book of Exodus to show God’s guidance and provision through the strife and how it continues today.
Guide me, O Thou great Jehovah, Pilgrim through this barren land.
I am week, but Thou art mighty, Hold me with Thy powerful hand.

Guide Me, O Thou Great Jehovah
Pilgrim through this barren land.
I am weak, but Thou art mighty;
Hold me with Thy powerful hand.
Bread of heaven,
Feed me now and evermore.
Whence the healing waters flow;
Let the fire and cloudy pillar
Lead me all my journey through.
Strong Deliverer,
Strong Deliverer,
Be Thou still my Strength and Shield.
Bid my anxious fears subside;
Death of death, and hell’s destruction,
Land me safe on Canaan’s side.
Songs of praises,
I will ever give to Thee.
I will ever give to Thee.

Today’s worship song focus :
Everlasting God
Isaiah 40:31 (NASB95)
“Yet those who wait for the Lord
Will gain new strength;
They will mount up with wings like eagles,
They will run and not get tired,
They will walk and not become weary.”
Written in the summer of 2006 by Lincoln Brewster and Brenton Brown, this song was inspired by the passage in Isaiah 40 and a season of personal struggle in Brenton’s life. Carrying a powerful message of hope and encouragement, we, the worshipper, are reminded of God’s everlasting nature and His promise that He will provide the strength and renewal for us when we put our trust in Him.
You are the everlasting God, the everlasting God, You do not faint
You won’t grow weary, You’re the defender of the weak
You comfort those in need, You lift us up on wings like eagles.
We need to wake up and quit rushing through the day. Take the time to put God first and wait in His presence. Remember that resting in Him will provide you with His unwavering strength so that you are not relying on yourself and your strength alone.

Seize the Moment – Day 1418
Today’s worship song focus :
They’ll Know We Are Christians by Our Love
John 13:35 (NASB95)
A favorite song of the late 1960’s and early 70’s, it was written by a young Catholic priest by the name of Peter Raymond Scholtes. Taken from the words that Jesus gave His disciples in John 13, Scholtes wanted to show the connection between the church and its role in the life of the world. While it had a folk style of music, he wanted to connect the faith story of the church’s young people to the disheartened landscape of the culture in America.
Yes, they’ll know we are Christians by our love
We need to wake up and take to heart the words of this song. It is an important part of the message of grace, hope and love that we are to share with our part of the world and beyond. That is when we will truly see our mission of transforming stories through the gospel of Jesus Christ being fulfilled.

They’ll Know We Are Christians by Our Love
We are one in the Spirit, we are one in the Lord.
And we pray that all unity, may one day be restored.
By our love, by our love.
Yes, they’ll know we are Christians by our love.
We will walk with each other, will walk hand in hand,
We will walk with each other, will walk hand in hand,
And together we’ll spread the news, that God is in our land
We will work with each other, we will work side by side
And we’ll save each man’s dignity, and guard each man’s pride.
And all praise to Christ Jesus, God’s only Son
And all praise to the Spirit, Who makes us one.

Revelation Song
Revelation 4:8 (NASB95)
We need to wake up with a new hunger and desire for more of God in our lives. Immerse yourself in worship today. Empty yourself of your own selfishness and allow the Holy Spirit to fill you up afresh and anew with the love and joy that can only come when we join with the angels in declaring “Holy, Holy, Holy, is the Lord God Almighty!”

Today’s worship song focus will be
Lavish
Psalm 23:1-2 (NASB95)
“The Lord is my shepherd, I shall not want.
He makes me lie down in green pastures;
He leads me beside quiet waters.”
Written and released in 2017 by Francesca Battistelli, Jeremy Redmon & Mike Weaver, it is easy to see that this song is based upon Psalm 23. It’s important to remember that before we had hymn books, the early church sang the scriptures. Just read through the book of Psalms and see the description of the chapters where it says “To the choirmaster: for the flutes. A Psalm of David” (Psalm 5). In fact, the word ‘psalm’ means a sacred song or hymn, especially one in which expressions of praise and thanksgiving are prominent.*
You are my shepherd, I shall not want.
You make me lie down in green pastures.
You lead me beside still waters
You restore my soul
We need to wake up each day with a song of praise in our hearts and on our lips. Think about how much better your day would go if you did this instead of grumbling at the alarm clock. God loves you and wants you to always have the best day, even when it may be dark and gloomy. Can you think of a better way to start your day?

Lavish
You are my shepherd, I shall not want
You make me lie down in green pastures
You lead me beside still waters
You restore my soul
And though I walk through the valley
I won’t fear death’s shadow
Because I know You are with me
And the banner that’s over me
Is the love that has set me free
‘Cause You lavish Your love
You lavish Your love on me
And Your love conquers all my fear
Because Jesus You’re always near
‘Cause You lavish Your love
You lavish Your love on me
You pour out Your Spirit ’til I overflow
With peace in the midst of my trouble
You’re more than enough for my struggle
You are all I need
And though I walk through the valley
I won’t fear death’s shadow
Because I know You are with me
And the banner that’s over me
Is the love that has set me free
You lavish Your love
You lavish Your love on me
And Your love conquers all my fear
Because Jesus You’re always near
Oh You lavish Your love
You lavish Your love on me
Goodness and mercy will follow me all of my days
And I’ll make my home in Your presence now and always
Goodness and mercy will follow me all of my days
And I’ll make my home in Your presence now and always
And the banner that’s over me
Is the love that has set me free
‘Cause You lavish Your love

I Lift My Hands
Psalms 63:3-4 (NASB95)
“Because Your lovingkindness is better than life,
My lips will praise You.
So I will bless You as long as I live;
I will lift up my hands in Your name.”
The song was written by Chris Tomlin, Louie Giglio, Matt Maher, and Jesse Reeves in 2010. Rooted in biblical truths of surrender, trust and worship, this song has impacted many believers’ lives since its release. It has served as a source of comfort, inspiration, and encouragement by reminding everyone of the faithfulness of God and the power of worship in our individual lives.
I lift my hands to believe again You are my refuge, you are my strength
As I pour out my heart, these things I remember You are faithful, God, forever
We need to wake up every day with a firm resolve in our hearts that this and every day is a day that the Lord has made, and we will rejoice and be glad in it, no matter what we are facing! Why? Because we are not facing it alone. He is there with us. And when we lift up our hands, our Father God is faithful to pick us up and carry us through.

Today’s song focus will be
It Came Upon a Midnight Clear
Luke 2:14-15 (NASB95)
““Glory to God in the highest, And on earth peace among men with whom He
is pleased.” When the angels had gone away from them into heaven, the shepherds
began saying to one another, “Let us go straight to Bethlehem then, and see
this thing that has happened which the Lord has made known to us.”
“It came upon a midnight clear, That glorious song of old,
From angels bending near the earth, To touch their harps of gold:”
We need to wake up and take the message of peace into our area of the world that needs to either hear it for the first time or be reminded of it. Remember, each of us are to be the messengers of the gospel, just like those shepherds who heard it from the angels on that night so long ago.

It Came Upon a Midnight Clear
that glorious song of old,
from angels bending near the earth
to touch their harps of gold:
“Peace on the earth, good will to men,
from heaven’s all-gracious King.”
The world in solemn stillness lay,
to hear the angels sing.
with peaceful wings unfurled,
and still their heavenly music floats
o’er all the weary world;
above its sad and lowly plains,
they bend on hovering wing,
and ever o’er its Babel sounds
the blessed angels sing.
whose forms are bending low,
who toil along the climbing way
with painful steps and slow,
look now! for glad and golden hours
come swiftly on the wing.
O rest beside the weary road,
and hear the angels sing!
by prophet seen of old,
when with the ever-circling years
shall come the time foretold
when peace shall over all the earth
its ancient splendors fling,
and the whole world send back the song
which now the angels sing.
