Seize the Moment – Day 1424

Live Like the Redeemed!

Isaiah 43

Good morning! This is Pastor Jerry Ingalls from New Castle First Baptist Church and today is Friday, February 9.

You are more than a conqueror in Christ Jesus (Romans 8:37-39), a chosen member of His family who has been redeemed by the blood of Jesus (Acts 20:28; Titus 2:14). Now, live like it! As the nations raged against Jerusalem, God looked upon His people and said, “You are Mine,” giving them the assurance of their redemption in Isaiah 43:1-5:

But now, thus says the Lord, your Creator, O Jacob, and He who formed you, O Israel, “Do not fear, for I have redeemed you; I have called you by name; you are Mine! … For I am the Lord your God, the Holy One of Israel, your Savior; I have given Egypt as your ransom, Cush and Seba in your place. Since you are precious in My sight, since you are honored and I love you, I will give other men in your place and other peoples in exchange for your life. Do not fear, for I am with you; I will bring your offspring from the east, and gather you from the west.”

What a promise in the middle of a big old hot mess! Israel suffered at the hands of Assyria and Babylon, only to be released from captivity by Persia. Yet, during that time, God promised to redeem the offspring of Israel from the four corners of the Earth. To this day, that is the mission of the church, as witnesses of God’s redemption (Isaiah 43:8-13; Acts 1:8), calling His people home through Jesus Christ, the One who paid the ransom (Mark 10:45; 1 Peter 1:18-19).

Seize the moment and live as one who has been redeemed, no matter your circumstances today – “Let the redeemed of the Lord say so, whom He has redeemed from the hand of the adversary and gathered from the lands, from the east and from the west, from the north and from the south” (Psalm 107:2-3).

God bless you!
