Seize the Moment – Day 595

Go

Matthew 10:7 (ESV)
Today’s key word is “GO”.

And as you go, preach, saying, ‘The kingdom of heaven is at hand.’”

We as a church emphasize the command of Matthew 28:19-20 to

Go therefore and make disciples of all nations, baptizing them in the name of the Father and of the Son and of the Holy Spirit, teaching them to observe all that I have commanded you. And behold, I am with you always, to the end of the age.”

But this was not the first time that Jesus told the disciples to “GO”. He had spent time with the Twelve, showing them how to minister to the lost with compassion and grace. But in this context, He emphasized “As you go…”, calling them to make this not something they do only on Sundays, but for it to be a part of their lifestyle.

This is why it is important for us to start our day with some time alone with God. I mean, if Jesus did, then why shouldn’t we? He will prepare our hearts and the Holy Spirit will give us the words to say just when we need them.

I need to remind each and every one of us that we are they only Jesus that some folks will ever see. We cannot wait for them to come to church, but we need to be His light and His love to a group or an individual that is in need of a Savior.

Won’t you go?
